Salou

Besides from its beautiful beaches, Salou has a large number of extraordinary monuments that express the local culture and portray a little of the history of Salou.

WHAT TO SEE AND VISIT IN SALOU?

Monument to Jaume I (Monument to Jaime I):

This monument is part of the famous Paseo de Jaume I, which was built in the middle of the last century commemorating the deeds of King James I, who in the early thirteenth century left the port of Salou to Mallorca in order to aunarla to their land. Torre Vella of Salou:

La Torre Vella Salou, located on the street Arquebisbe Pere de Cardona s / n, is an ancient building dating from the sixteenth century, whose purpose, at the time, was to serve as protection for the city. It is known that in the early 90s' Salou la Vella Tower was renovated, and since then houses the Municipal Museum of Contemporary Enamels, one of the most visited in the whole place. Casa Bonet:

This house has modernist style, a style that disappeared from Catalonia in the early twentieth century. It is located in the Paseo Jaume I, with other works by the same architectural style. This beautiful house was built under the responsibility of the architect Doménech Sugranyes I Gras, which was one of the disciples of Gaudí.

Church of Santa Maria Del Mar:

Faro Salou:

One of the most important monuments of the Costa Dorada; built on the cliffs. It is located at the tip of Cape Salou. Dates back to 1858.
